This past weekend I was lucky (and brave!) enough to hop on the bus to say goodbye to you, one of my favorite people in the whole world and my best friend.
We met back in 2007, right after we came to this country, and we've come a long way since then. We were both so young, excited for what was gonna happen in the next year or two for us and 6 years later, here we are : you are going home for good, happily married and me, well, not married haha ... I'm just me -but completely changed at the same time. I owe so much to you, for being ALWAYS there for me, for your unconditional support, for teaching me a lesson when I needed to, for all the advice that I would listen to but not always follow -and then I would hit my head on the wall later...- and for all the moments we had together. I will never forget them because they helped me become a better person in many ways (imagine how messed up I was before!).
So many things happened these past 6 years, so many stories and experiences we shared together, so many laughs, tears, get togethers, melt downs, fun trips (Europe!!), adventures, countless weekends of fun, sleepovers, trips to the mall, Ross, 5 below, Outlets, Md Donald's double cheese burgers, cheesecake factory, Union jack, DC, Georgetown,DC, DC, DC.... singing and driving... the list is endless! We learned from our mistakes, we made lemonades when we only had lemons, we danced as if no one was watching, we lived to the fullest !... Life was just so much better with you!
I can't even begin to say how much I love you my friend. You are the best friend a girl can have and I'm heart broken that you are leaving (ME!- sorry, I take things very personally sometimes :D ) and I know it takes courage and maturity to do that so I'm proud of you. You came here as a girl and you are leaving a beautiful and mature woman. I know you will be successful in everything you do. You have so much potential, I know that, I've seen it. You've been through so much but you never lost the smile on your face... Keep shining, being yourself and bringing happiness to everyone around you like you always do.
Even though we are older now, I know that in someways we are still the same girls, with our dreams, doubts and all ... I will miss that, I will miss you so much but I know it's just a matter of time until I see you again to relive the best of me because of you :) In the mean time, enjoy Brazil, enjoy the new opportunities life will give you and make the most out of them, like you always do.
Have a safe trip and celebrate this new journey! You deserve the best and nothing less.
Love you always,
Ps.: Here are a few shots we took this last Sunday, January 20th, 2013. Milene, Camila and me + Arielly! I love you girls SO much! THANK YOU for everything. Seriously.
