As a little girl I've always loved planning my own party. I would make a list, choose a theme, invite everyone, sign the invitations...the whole process was very exciting to me, I always knew what I wanted. I remember my 7th birthday party and all the effort my mom put into it, to make sure I had my perfect Alladin/Jasmin party- costume and all! It was amazing and I cherish those memories with love :)

But sometimes  kids don't know what they want and moms go crazy trying to prepare everything on time for the big day! Choosing a theme can be very helpful to coordinate decoration, the food that will be served and entertaining for your child's birthday.

How to choose from countless options?

There are many ways to decide what theme you should go for. To make it simpler, pay attention to your child's favorite books, TV shows, games and maybe come up with a list of 2-3 options to suggest them and watch for their reactions, so you know which one he/she is more excited about. Bring some ideas  to the table to help the child visualize the option given and have fun!

Wanna do it yourself?

Party City (and other 'party' stores) and Etsy are the must-go places to buy and make your own decoration. Another option is to take advantage of Halloween, Valentine's day, Easter and other occasions to find unique items for your child's birthday!

More important than the perfect theme is the love and dedication you put into making your child's day special :). That's what stays. And pictures! Don't forget to take as many pictures as you can, relax, enjoy your child's day and have fun!
